Epic Adventures!

On today’s episode, we hear from Paige Conner Totaro about how her and her husband John, and twin daughters, took a step off the treadmill, and headed out for a gap year of world travel; on the road, plane, train, you name it! They planned the first 6 weeks, and made up the rest as they went, not a bad way to go!aotm1

Paige had a ton of great advice about what helped them get on the road, how it worked for John to leave his career, and especially about
her experience road schooling the girls.

Usually at the top of most parents fears about globe trotting is: “What is it going to do to our kids education?”  Yes, everyone says it will be great, and they will gain a ton of confidence and experiences, but what about their school?

Paige was happy to reporaotmt that their experience with road schooling was a great one and the girls came back where they left off or ahead! Plus, they get to add about 30 stamps to their passports! Not a bad way to “do” school!

Show Notes:

They had some amazing experiences with couch surfing: Couchsurfing, be sure and check out their family page, centered on families helping families.

Paige has also written a book: “Brussels with Kids”

Please visit their blog at: alloverthemap.net, it loaded with resources for schooling, planning and budgeting, etc.

Don’t forget about the blog post about the toliets of the world!
