01 – Who What Why? Podcast Intro

This is a short program to explain what this podcast is going to do:

In this episode, Erik introduces himself and gives a brief history of how he and his family traveled abroad by sailboat, with NO ocean sailing experience. The Hemingway family thought they were only going to spend one year in Greece, sailing between a few islands, and call it good. 3 years, 17,000 miles, an ocean crossing, and a baby born abroad all added up to a much larger, epic adventure of a lifetime!

Introducing: Family Adventure Podcast!

‘Mount of Olives’ in Jerusalem

We have had a lot of families get excited after hearing about the adventures we took. We lived on a sailboat for 3 1/2 years, traveling all through the Mediterranean, crossing the Atlantic Ocean and sailing up through the Caribbean. We enjoyed our experience so much, and really enjoy getting other families excited to travel and dream big, that led to the launch of this podcast. We plan to interview families who are traveling in different ways, but all linked by the desire to get out of the box, rat-race, trap, whatever you want to call it, and live wild and adventurously AS a family, not for someday, but NOW!!

Here’s our story, and we hope you’ll get hooked to hear others’s stories and get inspired and encouraged to GO out and Seize the Day! Who knows…..hopefully soon we’ll get to interview you!

Getting Close!

I’ve been doing several interviews, getting artwork ready and a million loose ends required to get the podcast off the ground. I think it’s a lot of work up front, and then when the pieces are in place, hopefully, it will be a smoother transition.
