129- Spit Up and Heels

Today on the show we have Stephanie Pletka from the blog Spit Up & Heels. This family has been able to experience a lot of travel thanks to their job.

When the idea of full time travel came around 9+ years ago. Both husband and wife were excited and ready to do whatever it took to make it happen. They begin to work extra

hard to set up a location independent job in their tech field and stashed away her income for 5 years to prepare for the trip and now it’s been almost 4 years of traveling.

Their most recent trip was an RV trip across the US to set up a home base in Arizona but they’ve spent time in almost 46 States and multiple countries in Europe, depending on where the work come from. Now they’ve began to limit their traveling to the summer when kids are out of school.

Advice from this Episode:

∆ Pace yourself. It all seems fun until real life has to happen like working, school and laundry.

∆ Life isn’t just the highlight reel. Sometimes travel can look fantastic but you don’t know all whats going on leading up to that (fights, long work hours, etc)

∆ It’s not all or nothing. You simply go how you can go. Baby steps. Explore.

∆ Make sure to get involved with activities that keep the kids (and everyone else) appreciative of what they have. The Pletka’s have had the chance to feed the homeless and other volunteer activities through local churches where they are staying.
