Family with LatitudeToday on the show we have Nicole from the blog Family with Latitude. Their family of 4 is 2 months in to a 30 month travel adventure! They plan to travel to 30 countries in 30 months more or less. While currently in London, England, Nicole joined us today to talk about the planning of a trip this big and the adjustments they’re making as they start out.

Learning to live on the road had probably been the biggest adjustment. And we hear that from a lot of guests on the show. It’s not a vacation and defiantly requires some mindset change to adjust to life on the go. Nicole says they are learning to make time for a chill day during the week, time for laundry and catching up on homework. Being on the go for so long can be exhausting so it’s important to listen to your body and rest and relax when you need it.

Nicole says she’s enjoying the time together as a family…24/7.  As a working mom she only got limited family time here and there for a week back home and now they are enjoying getting to explore and experience life together. These amazing places they are getting to see just make for a great backdrop to lots of quality family time.

Based out of Florida, they left home and started by traveling up the East Coast of the United States. Then flew to Ireland and spent about three weeks there before continuing on to England where they are now, currently staying in London. In the next couple months they plan to rent a canal boat in the South of France, hang with friends in Tuscany for a week, eventually ending up in South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand before they’re final months spent in South America (hoping to attend a Spanish school when they get there). How fun!

Advice from this Episode:

Read and prepare. Online and elsewhere(books)! Families on the Move Facebook group is a great resource to learn from the full time travelers. A lot of people on there are currently traveling and are happy to share knowledge and experience :)

Make a commitment and just go and do it!
